The new Emergency Department design is a modified linear concept that provides a unique controlled workspace for the clinicians and physicians. All treatment rooms are visible to the workspace and patient traffic is accommodated by an outer corridor. Unique to St. Mary’s Decatur is a Core Connector that links the two staff work cores, resulting in an “H” layout of the staff areas.
