Project Description

Bon Secours Cancer Institute at St. Francis

Midlothian, Virginia
The new Cancer Institute is prominently located at the gateway entrance to the new Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center campus. The two-story, 55,000 gross square foot institute includes services for radiation oncology, medical oncology, infusion therapy, complementary medicine, community education and physician office space.

The design concept of the facility creates a welcoming, comfortable and relaxed setting. The stone fireplace in the entry lobby “living room” serves as the focal center of the public space in the building with linkage to each of the primary ground floor services. External to the infusion therapy area is exterior landscaped contemplative setting around a water feature and pergola collonnade. The design integrates cancer care in a natural setting drawing on the spiritual role inn the healing environment.
