This convention center was a joint public investment including the hotelier, Portman Associates, the land owner, the City of Charlotte and a consortium of local banks. The 700 room hotel includes suites and hospitality rooms found in all major convention center hotels. The Conference Center includes a 12,000SF Ballroom and a junior conference center. Parking is underground and the site is master planned for a future 400,000-600,000SF office building. Odell Associates served as Associate Architect and provided construction administration. John Portman and Associated Architects were the Architect of Record. Odell Associates served as the local architect and full-time representative in the construction phase of the work.
