New construction of a 32,000 square foot addition to the multi-sport Barnhardt Student Activity Center, includes a practice gym for the basketball and volleyball programs, as well as track and field training.
The activity center houses a 4,300 square foot weight and training area for varsity athletes. The weight room has two strength training offices and a storage room. The Men's basketball suite includes a storage area, four assistant coaches offices, a head coach and a reception area. The second level includes a multi-media video room, with platform seating with an occupancy of 50.
The women's basketball suite includes one head coach office and four assistant coaches offices. There is a volleyball head coach office and one assistant office. The women's coaches' also have a separate reception area and storage and file room for common use. A built-in trophy display case on each level is adjacent to the coaches' area. There is a separate men's and women's locker room with showers and restrooms, Coaches' lockers and toilets.
There is an academic center for athletes that includes study carols, conference rooms, meeting rooms, academic counselors, and support areas.
An atrium space that acts as a pre-function space to the gym when it is used as a social space.
