Odell Associates is responsible for overall architectural design and preparation of plans and specifications while ensuring full compliance with the Force Protection standards of the UFC on this 165,000 square foot hospital addition project at Langley Air Force Base managed by the Norfolk District, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
The Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings, as contained in the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) dated 31 July 2002, are being incorporated into this design, specifically addressing standoff distances, progressive collapse, window glazing and special Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) for mailrooms.
