The Greenville Hospital System is the primary provider for Heart Catheterization and Cardio-Vascular procedures in the upstate region of South Carolina. To improve patient care and consolidate the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, Odell designed a new four-story Heart Institute. This addition houses outpatient stress testing and education/conference rooms on the first floor, and CV Recovery and CV ICU Patient Rooms on the second floor. Interventional Cath Labs, EP Labs and patient holding rooms are on the third floor, and CCU and postoperative Telemetry Patient Rooms are on the fourth floor. In addition to the new Heart Institute, modifications to the radiology suite will house angiography procedure rooms and patient treatment areas. Renovations to the Emergency Trauma Center will increase treatment rooms for chest pain patients.
The facility provides 6 Cath Lab Rooms, plus 2 EP Cath procedure rooms that are exclusive to the Heart Institute. The hospital also has 4 designated Heart OR’s (set up – but not exclusive to the Heart Institute), 21 General OR’s, and 2 Vascular/General OR’s (set up – but not exclusive to the Heart Institute).
