The vision of the Caribbean Hospital for Children is based on a partnership with the SVG Government, Private Sector, and an International humanitarian organization, the International Hospital for Children, to implement a shared dream of impacting and saving lives of children in the region. The program will build sustainable health capacity for approximately 8 million children residing in the Eastern Caribbean, Guyana, and Suriname. For the first time children who are unable to afford or obtain care in the region or overseas will have access to pediatric specific diagnostics, critical care, and surgery. More than bricks and mortar, the CHC will be a center of learning for the region's physicians, communities, and parents.
The new pediatric hospital is planned to be a 55,000 SF freestanding three story building on an acre of land along the Leeward Highway and the Botanical Gardens in Kingstown. The property has a 20 ft slope that will allow for good views of both the sea and the oldest botanical gardens in the western hemisphere.
