Albemarle Hospital is located on Route 17 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The facility currently has 157 acute care beds on five levels.
Odell completed the Hospital Master Facility Assessment in 1999 and the updated Master Facility Plan in 2001. Phase 1 of the Master Plan initiative is currently under design and the first component, a 30 bed Telemetry Unit expansion, is under construction on level three of the facility.
A Certificate of Need Application process was completed for Phase 1 of the Master Plan. Phase 1 will change the front elevation of the Hospital along Route 17 to include a two story addition into the existing parking area. Phase 1 will include a building expansion with a new mall lobby, a relocated Nutritional Services Department, a relocated Surgery Department, and relocated Rehabilitation Services. Renovation will occur on the first and second floor to support the expansion. The required site work and increased parking is also included.
Future phases 2 and 3 of the Master Plan will include bed tower renovations and expansion of all key clinical services.
